EES in two days, honestly i'm not THAT excited as everyone else. There are shitty people there, and being in such a community needs politics. Everything now needs politics. If you don't know anyone you'll get nowhere in poly. If you don't seek the lecturer'e help, the lecturer would think you don't give a shit for your modules. In poly it's pretty much society biased because you need to know people.
Like for example, group work, if you don't know anyone you'll be stuck in a group that either the members hate you or you dislike them. Then it'll affect your results as a whole. Right? If you don't make friends you're alone in class. That feeling really suck.
Take for example, being a crew in school camps, or student leader. If you're not gonna open up you'll suffer. If you don't have any friends or you aren't well liked, people will take advantage of you, bully you, make use of you. It didn't happen to me, but i witnessed it.
Truth is, i've never been a leader. I never lead, never was given a chance, never had the experience. So for ees, i'm gonna work hard. I want to have the chance to lead. Sure, i may not make a good team leader, but really it's the joy of leading, not so much of the position. I'm not that type that puts myself above others, i see everyone on an equal level as me. Fuck "freshies" or "juniors", why term people? I don't think people like being termed as that. It makes you feel like you're not as good as everyone else who had experience.
(these are my opinions, i know everyone wouldn't agree with whatever i'm saying, so chill the fuck out.)

Enough about that.
